Fast Usenet Review 2020

Fast Usenet is a relatively new Usenet service provider to the market. But they have already made a niche out for themselves in the ever growing market of Usenet services. They have been able to achieve this rate of success in such a short period of time because they have a lot to offer and put their customers first. Fast Usenet has been around for about 10 years now and already, they are giving some of the big names in the Usenet market a run for their money. Let’s now take a look at the services offered by Fast Usenet.

Retention:
Fast Usenet offers 4,000+ days of binary retention & over three years of text retention. They have recently upgraded their storage facilities to provide this service. But, there is no doubt that the storage would need further upgrading if retention days are going to increase. 4,000+ days of binary retention, although good, is still falls short in comparison to other major Usenet providers who are providing 1050+ days binary retention plans.

Pricing:
Cost for Fast Usenet services rage from $2.95 to $6.95. The things which are common with all price ranges are 4,000+ days of binary retention, 50 secure connections, 100,000+ newsgroups & free web newsreader. The download limit though varies with the price you are paying. As with all the services, the more you pay the more you get. At $2.95 you get a monthly limit of 6 GB. At $3.95, $5.95 & $6.95 you get 15 GB, 35 GB & unlimited downloads & upload facility.

Free Trial:
If you want to try out their services before you actually pay a few bucks, then you can always take advantage of their 14 day free trial with all the features and a download limit of 15 GB. The free trial will definitely give you an idea about the kind of services they provide.

Security/anonymity:
With all the services you get 50 secure connections with 256 bit SSL encryption by default.

Speed:
The speed provided by Fast Usenet is fairly consistent. A constant speed of 15-20 Mbps is provided with 50 simultaneous connections. But the speed you get will certainly depend on the speed provided by your ISP. We had a friend test their service who has a gigabit service (1Gbps). With Fast Usenet they we able to archive around 850Mbps – 925Mbps access speeds which is really amazing!

Completion Rate:
Fast Usenet has an extremely high completion rate of 99%.

Newsgroups:
Fast Usenet provides customized web newsreaders which is fast, secure & extremely easy to use. Within that newsreader the subscribers can view pictures, videos and read text newsgroups directly from an internet browser.

Payment options:
Payment options in Fast Usenet are many. You can pay using your credit cards as well as through PayPal.

Other Features:
Fast Usenet also provides a mobile newsreader besides the one mentioned above. Apart from iPhone & iPad devices, it supports any mobile device which can run Java. You also get a customized version of GrabIt newsreader with search. The customized version of GrabIt is configured for Fast Usenet’s service. Simply enter your username and password that you receive after signup and you are off!

Localization:
As you might already know Usenet is used my millions of users around the World… and those users obviously speak different languages. Fast Usenet has translated their website for users that speak German, Dutch, Spanish and French. We think it’s awesome that they’ve translated their site as not everyone speaks English, this helps to expand the Usenet community which is better for everyone.

Conclusion:
Good retention rates, security of connections, competitive price & some truly great additional features makes Fast Usenet a truly  a great value. It’s the service that we choose and personally I believe it’s a hidden gem in the Usenet community that is sometimes overshadowed by the larger companies, but if you are aware of Fast Usenet we suggest you choose them. You’ll be glad you did!
